Incomprehensible

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son…” Galatians 4:4a

“For God so loved the world, that He GAVE His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.”
John 3:16-17 (emphasis added)

“The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell…” -Fredrick Lehman

My friends, have any of you ever stopped to ponder the love of God? It is completely incomprehensible.

Even in eternity past, God knew that Adam and Eve were going to sin, the world would fall into chaos, and God would have to clean up our mess, but He chose to make us anyway, because He loves us. On top of that, His plan to fix the mess that we all made involved His Only Son. God would give Jesus over to the cruelest death imaginable, to save YOU.

In August of 2023, we were so incredibly blessed to welcome our only son. I think you can probably see where this is going. That fuzzy-headed, smiley, blanket wrapped bundle-turned rambunctious, curious, active toddler is our pride and joy. It would destroy us if anything happened to him, or any of our children. I can’t even imagine what kind of pain the Lord willingly went through in giving up His Son, so that He could have a relationship with you. God did that because He loves you!

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this, that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8

They both gave that sacrifice willingly!

“And being found in human form, He (Jesus)  humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
Philippians 2:8

That’s why He sent his Son! That’s why we have Christmas! We give gifts to each other as a reminder of the best gift that we ever could receive, Jesus! And we give to others because we love them, as a tangible reminder of God’s love for all of us!

“Could we with ink the ocean fill and were the skies of parchment made…to write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry…” and the sky would run out of space to describe how much God loves you!
